Seizure of approx. $225MM worth of cryptocurrency related to Crypto Confidence Scams

Civil Action No. 25-cv-1907

Investigation into Cryptocurrency Investment Fraud Schemes

The U.S. Secret Service and the FBI used blockchain analysis and other investigative techniques to determine that the seized cryptocurrency is connected to the theft and laundering of funds from victims of cryptocurrency investment fraud schemes, commonly referred to as cryptocurrency confidence scams.

As part of the investigation of the laundering network, dozens of victims across the country were confirmed to have lost funds through the belief that they were making legitimate cryptocurrency investments, with more than 400 suspected victims around the world.

To learn if you sent funds to one of the suspected cryptocurrency addresses involved, enter the requested details below. You will be advised if you are a victim and next steps. Please note, at this time there is no need to provide any records. However, should your address(es) be a match, in order to submit a formal petition, you will need to provide supporting evidence such as cryptocurrency exchange records, proof of wallet ownership, bank statements, etc.

Identified victims of this scheme will be notified directly by the FBI and/or Department of Justice (DOJ) via email and/or letter for further instructions on how to submit a petition.
